The Colorado Dental Board is seeking dentists and dental hygienists to provide expert consultation to the Board on matters involved in the complaint process. Consultants are required to have been licensed and practicing in the state for at least five years immediately preceding their application, and should be willing to provide an opinion both in writing and in court testimony.

The Board especially is seeking dentists practicing in rural areas and outside the Front Range area, and in areas of specialty practice. The Colorado Dental Board is looking for Colorado dentists and dental hygienists to act as practice monitors for other Colorado dentists and dental hygienists. If a license is issued within one 1 year of the renewal date, no continuing education will be required for that first renewal period. If a license is issued outside of one 1 year or the renewal date, then 15 hours of Board-approved continuing education will be required for that first renewal period.

For dentists, including those issued an academic license, the Board automatically accepts any CE course or program recognized by any of the following organizations or a successor organization. For dental hygienists, the Board automatically accepts any CE course recognized above and sponsored or recognized by or a successor organization :. At least 16 of the required 30 CE hours must be clinical or science-based, or eight 8 of the required 15 if licensed outside of one 1 year of the renewal date.

This may include web-based courses. The mission of the Colorado Dental Board is to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of the people of Colorado by developing and maintaining rules and policies to ensure that only qualified persons are licensed to provide dental care and that violators of the laws and rules regulating dentistry are sanctioned as appropriate.
